Ann-Fielder

Ann Fielder, L. Ac.

Greetings!  I have been in practice since 1998.  My approach balances medical knowledge with holistic perception, intuition, and genuine caring.  My goal is to find what will work best for each patient.  I do my best to make the treatment a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and I am told I have a gentle touch and calming presence.

I use a combination of techniques garnered from my many years of continuing education in Acupuncture, Acupressure, Electroacupuncutre, Acutonics ® (Using sound frequencies with tuning forks on the points), and Chinese herbalism. I also use cupping and far infrared heat therapy. I have completed advanced training in pain relief and muscle tension release using several different approaches, including microcurrent and acupressure. I offer some of these modalities as needle-free alternatives.

My specialties include: pain relief of all kinds, including back pain, joint pains, muscle tension, migraine (special continuous ear point treatment), auto accidents, sciatica and other nerve issues, digestive problems, allergies & sinus issues, women’s health, anxiety, and more. When you come to see me, I will formulate an individualized, results-oriented treatment plan. You will know if the treatment is going to help your condition within 1-4 visits. Most people start to feel improvement after the first treatment. Isn’t it time you tried acupuncture to see how your body likes it?  Enjoy increased well-being with a full-system tune-up and a pleasant dose of endorphins!

I accept Insurance. Does your insurance cover acupuncture? Many plans do, including the following employers:  SOU, all local school districts, OSF, Federal Retirees, and many more, as well as all auto accident (PIP) insurance. You do not usually need a referral from your doctor. I am in-network with most providers, and will bill your plan for you. Living in the valley since 1988, I consider myself to be part of a wide network of healthcare practitioners, and make referrals to others when needed.

I hurt my back while working out at the gym. In addition to acute back pain, I had numbness and pain in my lower legs and a sensation of wearing woolly socks on my feet. The neurologist diagnosed it as peripheral neuropathy. My doctor suggested I try acupuncture and recommended Ann.

After the first week of treatment, there was a lessening of symptoms, and by the second month, the “woolly socks” feeling was gone, and remains gone, now 9 years later. By the third month, the pain in my feet was practically gone, and my back showed great improvement. Now I only see Ann as needed to relieve back pain. I even dropped the Lyrica that my doctor prescribed, I highly recommend Ann Fielder as a highly professional, caring acupuncturist.

I have been having trouble with migraines for the past 8 years. My doctor has tried multiple medications to prevent them, but none of them have worked. I was having at least 1 to 2 migraines per week. I read the article about Ann’s ear tac treatment and decided to give it a try. In the last 3 months there has been a dramatic change: I have only had 2 headaches the whole time. I recommend this to anyone who is trying to find an alternative to taking medications to deal with migraines.

Even though I stretch every day, I still have chronic tightness in my shoulders and neck from working at the computer and bicycle riding. When Ann told me about her electro-therapeutic point stimulator I was skeptical, but in enough pain that I was willing to try it. The results were immediate. I was able to continue both activities pain free. I won’t hesitate to return. Ann’s acupuncture is a wonderful resource.

Cheryl, 60-ish

For as far back as I can remember, I have suffered from migraine headaches. After my son was born 3 years ago, the migraines became a daily occurrence. I was taking maximum doses of over-the-counter pain medications, as well as multiple prescriptions from my doctor, with some unbearable side effects—still without effective pain relief. Since receiving acupuncture, my migraines have virtually disappeared, with only an occasional episode. I was skeptical, but Acupuncture has changed my life: I am able to function without pain, drug-free. If I had known how well this relaxing, alternate method works, I would have put aside my skeptical thoughts years ago.

When I went to Ann for my very first acupuncture treatment, I had pain going down the backs of both legs and a numbness that went from my thigh down into my heel, being caused by arthritis in my lower back. The first 5 treatments over a 4-week period gradually made some improvement—the pain and numbness in my left leg were gone. I went in on my 6th treatment with a lot of pain in my right leg. Immediately after the treatment, the pain was gone and has not returned. Now, after 8 treatments the numbness is all but gone. I am sold on acupuncture and highly recommend it!

I came to Ann for acupuncture after several chiropractic adjustments for neck pain were unsuccessful. After only a few acupuncture treatments, my pain subsided, and resolved quickly. I love my sessions with Ann because no matter what she is treating me for, I experience very deep healing and feel very rested and rejuvenated each time. I always feel so much more balanced and centered after acupuncture, physically and emotionally, and it alleviates pain and stress as well.

Ana, age 62

I had been to multiple doctors for my musculoskeletal pain, insomnia and anxiety. Acupuncture has greatly benefited me: I have more flexibility in my spine and less pain. The herbal pills Ann gave me help with the insomnia and anxiety. I feel calm, relaxed, and my pain goes way down after treatment. The needles in the top of my head help me sleep well for 3-4 nights after the treatment, and that hasn’t happened in years! Thank you, Ann!

I have chronic muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders which often cause migraines. I am unable to take migraine medication due to adverse reactions with my fibromyalgia medication. I am so relieved to have finally found something that works—acupuncture! I often nap through my treatments—it is so relaxing, and chemical-free. Over time, I have referred several friends to Ann, and though it can be difficult to convince people that acupuncture works, once they go ahead and try it and get relief from debilitating headaches, they only wish they had not waited so long to make that appointment!
